Dinara is a licensed professional psychotherapist with a deep passion for helping individuals find hope and healing. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling & Psychotherapy from the Institute of Clinical Social Work in Chicago. Beyond her therapeutic journey, Dinara’s life has been enriched by her experiences as a former professional ballroom dancer and dance coach.

Having spent years as a ballroom dance teacher and a professional competitor, Dinara discovered the transformative power of dance as a means of expression and emotional release. She has witnessed how dance can instill confidence, promote positive self-image, and cultivate meaningful connections between individuals as a dance coach. This profound understanding of the mind-body connection and the impact of movement on emotional well-being became a guiding force in her journey towards psychotherapy.

Dinara further honed her skills in guiding and supporting individuals of all ages in their dance pursuits. She found immense joy in not only helping her students master intricate dance routines but also in witnessing their personal growth and self-discovery through dance. This role as a coach allowed her to cultivate empathy, patience, and effective communication skills – qualities that have proven invaluable in her therapeutic practice.

Combining her background as a ballroom dance teacher and coach with her pursuit of a Masters in Clinical Counseling & Psychotherapy, Dinara has acquired a unique set of skills to understand and connect with her clients on a deeper level.

In her counseling practice, she employs a psychodynamic orientation, which further enriches her approach to psychotherapy. This orientation emphasizes the exploration of unconscious thoughts and emotions, helping clients gain deeper insights into their past experiences and how they shape their current behaviors and relationships. Dinara believes in creating a non-judgmental safe space to work together with a client to help them in their journey.

Laura Bowen, LPC-S

Laura Bowen has been working in the field of mental health since 1998, but she has been drawn towards helping people as far back as she can remember. She decided to pursue a career in counseling after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Texas, Dallas. Says Laura,“I became passionate about the work I was doing when I saw how much people’s lives improved when they found their path.” She subsequently sought further education and obtained a Master’s degree in Counseling from Amberton University.

Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Master Addiction Counselor. She specializes in couples therapy and is IMAGO certified. Her passion for working in recovery comes from experiencing her own tragic loss, which drove her to develop her skills and training in trauma work and addiction treatment. She believes that this life experience helps her relate to clients on a deeper level. Laura has additional training and experience in Psychodrama, Expressive Art Therapy, and Ego State Therapy, as well as CBT and DBT. She is also a Certified EDMR therapist and an Amen Clinic Affiliate, the latter of which has helped her craft assessment materials to better understand the core issues that clients are experiencing. 

Laura was born and raised in California but traveled and lived in several countries as her family served in the Foreign Services. While her experience in Mental Health began with her work with adolescents and families, Laura went on to work with all types of populations in her long-spanning career, and she believes that this, combined with her background, enables her to relate to a wide variety of people and cultures. Laura has worked in many different settings; inpatient, outpatient, residential treatment and private practice. She has held positions as Clinical Director, Clinician, Manager and Business Developer in both California and Texas. 

She enjoys combining her human resource management background with her clinical skill set; this combined with her diverse cultural background opened doors for her to work with executives, athletes, musicians, and performers. Laura uses a client centered multi modal approach in her work with clients. When it comes to leadership, Laura enjoys coaching others in a way that serves them, allowing them to better serve others. To bring it full circle, she believes that through helping others, we gain insight and guidance in our own lives and self work.

Lisa Dreher, LMFT-Associate

Lisa is a caring professional specializing in individuals, couples, and families as a Licensed Marriage and Family Associate. She is curious and empathic, prioritizing collaboration and mutual respect in her work. Lisa enjoys empowering clients to have healthier relationship dynamics with themselves, in committed relationships, and as parents and caregivers.

Lisa holds a Masters of Counseling, with a focus in Couples and Family Therapy, from St. Edward’s University and a B.A. in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. She currently trains with nationally-known couples therapist, John Howard, and considers Dr. Tori Olds and Steve Terrell influential mentors.

The work of Dan Siegel, Juliane Taylor Shore, Dr. Richard Schwartz, Bonnie Badenoch and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson inform her approach. She holds a Level 1 certification in the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) and completed Levels 1 & 2 in the Gottman Couples Method. Kayla Abbatello, PsyD

Licensed Psychologist

Kayla Abbatello, PsyD (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist at Presence Wellness. She approaches therapy in a relational manner so as to build a genuine connection with those seeking therapy. Kayla believes the most important aspect of the therapeutic process is the working relationship and strives to understand others’ thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and desires as best she can. She helps those seeking therapy to build awareness of how their past experiences (with self and others) might be contributing to current stressors and ways of relating to distress. Kayla understands that therapy is real work in addition to all of the other demands of life, and as such, strives to meet people where they are with humor and compassion.

Dr. Abbatello earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. During her time in Portland, Kayla gained experience in various settings including community mental health, college counseling centers, intensive-outpatient programs, and assessment sites. She completed her clinical internship at Vanderbilt University, which allowed her to serve students of varying identities and goals in life. There, she also learned the importance of wrap-around services and believes collaboration with other health professionals greatly improves quality of care.

Kayla uses an integrative therapy approach that draws heavily from relational psychodynamic practices. She believes it is crucial to explore and understand identity through current and historical lenses, and therefore, incorporates feminist and critical race theory into her work. Kayla understands that the limitations of identity and privilege can sometimes hinder the therapy experience and will work with you to fulfill each individuals’ goals. She enjoys working with adults who are looking to build self-awareness, explore and identify interpersonal patterns, process relational stressors and trauma, and gain connection, insight, and self-compassion.

Personally, Kayla enjoys reading, traveling, trivia, and tv shows. She is new to the Austin area and enjoys the craft brewery and music scene. She has a one-year-old curious cat that you may see pop up every now and then in telehealth sessions.
