We offer training opportunities for psychotherapists who wish to increase their expertise and confidence in various aspects of psychology and counseling. We offer:
Postdoctoral Fellowships for Psychologists. Our postdoc program offers you the opportunity to work in a leading, integrative private practice setting, doing long-term individual, couples and group psychotherapy with relatively high-functioning adults. You receive great, world-class, training, and get to be a part of a warm, connected, and friendly team. Talented individuals may have a chance to be hired on as staff psychologists after the postdoc year and continue living in Austin and working with our growing Center. Learn more about our Postdoctoral Fellowship Program here.
Practicum Trainings for Graduate Students. Through a partnership with the University of Texas at Austin graduate programs in counseling and psychology, we offer practicum students the opportunity to learn private practice work with close supervision and training. Practicum placements are open to Masters and PhD graduate students at UT in the departments of Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and the Counselor Education Program.
Presence Therapy® Training with John Howard. John’s advanced approach to couples therapy integrates mindfulness, interpersonal neuroscience, experiential therapy and psychobiology in order to erase the distinction between systemic and medical-model work and comprehensively treat a wide variety of mental, emotional, and relationship health concerns. His approach is inclusive of diverse populations and lifestyles, and includes a spiritual/existential component. This training is focused on couples therapy, but applies broadly to individual therapy as well. John is an expert couples therapist who has trained hundreds of therapists internationally.
Minding the Heart Training with Dr. Tori Olds. This training focuses on depth work, integrative models, emotion-focused and dynamic approaches to individual therapy informed by AEDP, attachment theory, and the memory reconsolidation work of Dr. Bruce Ecker.
Specific Workshops. We host occasional, time-limited study groups led by top trainers, psychologists and psychiatrists. For example, a 6-session group for therapists and psychiatrists to sharpen diagnostic skills, learn about mental health medications, and understand the confluence of therapy and medicine.
We occasionally hire exceptional therapists who want to work as part of an integrative team. Our clinic is like a private practice setting but with the benefits of group practice. You receive world-class training, and the opportunity to be part of a great cohort of colleagues. If you think you would be a strong member of our team, you may send your CV and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
