Chris Byrne, LPC
Couples and Individual Therapist
Chris holds a master’s degree in counseling from St. Edward’s University and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from The State University of New York. He specializes in attachment, depth, and existential exploration. Chris works with trauma, relationship issues, and helping clients connect with their most authentic selves. A student of Buddhist teachings for over 10 years, he finds it helpful to incorporate meditation and mindfulness practices into therapy. Prior to becoming a therapist, Chris worked in business development for 15 years, giving him a front row seat to the value of a healthy balance between work and family life. He is LGBTQ affirming and approaches therapy from a multicultural perspective.
Chris likes using psychodynamic and experiential approaches, as well as somatic awareness with his clients. He believes that connection, empathy, and compassion are some of the most important aspects that support mental wellness. He helps his clients develop healthier relationships, which he believes is one of life’s best investments and a medium through which people can heal and grow.
Chris has studied the latest therapeutic approaches in the field from leaders such as John Howard, Stan Tatkin, Tori Olds, and others. He is passionate about learning innovative counseling methods that support wellness, and being able to help clients achieve a sense of wholeness and connection. Part of a multicultural family, he likes working with clients from diverse backgrounds and supporting parents in their journey of raising young people.
He is married with three children, and likes spending time with his family, being in nature, and playing music. A drummer for most of his life, Chris approaches life in an intuitive, spontaneous way, much like creating music.
