Gus enjoys helping romantic partners, individuals, and families experiencing a wide range of concerns. He has trained for two years with nationally-known couples therapist John Howard, founder of Presence Therapy®, and works closely with John. Therapy with Gus often incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness, and assertiveness work to foster personal growth, and he is well-versed in developmental disorders, having previously worked for several years with children with special needs in a variety of settings. Because people are unique and diverse, he emphasizes a client-centered approach to therapy, continually adapting sessions to best meet the needs of his clients. No matter the content or the process, Gus is committed to a framework that emphasizes respect, support, and cultural humility. He is LGBTQ+ affirming, and values working with clients with diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
When he’s not in the therapy space, you might find Gus hiking a new trail, playing tabletop games, watching bad movies with friends, or perfecting his roasted salsa recipe.
