Individual/Couples Therapist and Ketamine Assisted Therapist
Peter is a warm and empathic therapist with a deep presence. He has trained in modern psychology models that reflect the latest thinking in the field including PACT and Dynamic Experiential Psychotherapy. He has a Masters in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and a B.A. in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin. Peter is a Licensed Professional Counselor who incorporates mindfulness in his work. He specializes in connection, authenticity, reducing stress and relationships. Peter’s style is positive and non-judgmental. He works with each client’s strengths to help them navigate life challenges, setting clear goals for the work.
Peter has dedicated himself to learning from top mentors including Stan Tatkin, Bruce Ecker, John Howard, and Juliane Taylor Shore. He has studied Dr. Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing approach to therapy and trained in experiential mindfulness with Dr. Tori Olds, both of which he incorporates into his work. Peter has participated in the PACT couples therapy training and was engaged in advanced couples therapy training under John Howard, LMFT. Peter also holds additional certification in the psychology of eating and can assist his clients in discussing their relationship to food and their overall wellness goals. He enjoys helping his clients explore, gain insight, and take action toward greater health by overcoming behavior patterns and fostering greater self-compassion.
Peter has an international background and is comfortable counseling clients of diverse beliefs and cultures. He has traveled widely since an early age, speaks a little French, and has lived abroad. Peter has studied many world traditions of healing and spirituality and is comfortable discussing personal growth and spirituality with clients who see their growth in those terms. Peter has studied with John Howard for over 10 years and adds his own warmth and enthusiasm for inspiring individuals and couples towards deeper connection. Peter is a 2017 Scholarship recipient of the Austin Group Psychotherapy Association and the Southwest Sexual Health Alliance and is a couples therapy teacher at UT Dell Medical. He is a TEDx speaker on men’s growth, plays guitar and sings for his band Dharma Collective which just released two singles “Here with Me” and “Would you Believe”, and is the author of 3 books on poetry. Peter also plays competitive sports, is a fitness enthusiast, and has been a sponsored triathlete for the JuiceLand team.
