Dr. Pang is a psychiatrist originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated summa cum laude from Rice University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She earned her medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York.
She completed her psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (McGovern Medical School), where she served as Chief Resident. During her training, she was honored with the Resident of the Year award and the Robert Guynn Award for her outstanding clinical care and contributions to the field.
Dr. Pang has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles published in reputable medical journals and has presented her work at several national conferences, including the American Psychiatric Association. Through her academic and clinical efforts, she has helped connect physicians across specialties and established an additional focus in psychodermatology, the intersection of skin conditions and mental health.
She has extensive training in psychotherapy, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. She is also a certified 200-hour yoga instructor through the Institute of Spirituality and Health at the Texas Medical Center. She incorporates principles of mindfulness and yoga into both her personal practice and her clinical work.
In her practice, Dr. Pang takes an individualized, integrative approach to psychiatric care, guided by compassion and a deep respect for the person in front of her.
