Tim Caffrey, MD
Co-Director, Presence Health
Tim is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School and holds Masters degrees in Business and Healthcare Administration from Baylor University. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).
Prior to matriculating at Dartmouth he graduated from Williams College with a major in political economics and a minor in Chinese history and culture. He was with the International Data Corporation as a management and technology consultant.
As a physician, Tim has practiced in a diverse range of settings with the US Army in the US, Italy, Germany, Kosovo and Afghanistan. He has served in various locations as Chief Medical Officer, Clinic Commander, and Department Chair and led the Army’s Patient Centered Medical Home initiative to transform the structure and delivery of primary care. More recently he has practiced in employer-financed healthcare clinics operated by Crossover Health and Premise Health, helping to lead world-class medical wellness centers within Fortune 500 companies.
Tim seeks to restore the centrality of collaboration, thoughtfulness, transparency and science to the practice of healthcare, values too often lost in the current healthcare market. He believes that primary care, designed and delivered with those values in mind, is essential to the health of individuals and communities. Tim is a compassionate, caring person who embodies the personalized medicine approach of developing a real relationship with patients, following their care and helping to optimize his patients’ health over time with prevention tips and science-based measurement of relevant health metrics.
