Lara Davis, MA, LPC-Associate
Associate Therapist
Lara is an active and engaged therapist who prioritizes a warm and empathetic therapeutic relationship. A secure relationship is where the healing happens and once this is established with you, her style is relational and compassionately direct, with a good sense of humor.
Learning to live a conscious life is not easy and requires work that can be uncomfortable. Lara’s thoughtful ability to incorporate laughter and playfulness into this deep work is one of her strengths that can help soften the journey. She believes that you already have the tools for personal growth, but due to trauma, family of origin dysfunction, and societal conditioning, you may be unaware them. Some of these internal resources, which Lara calls tools, include values, worthiness, and the courage to set boundaries. These tools play a crucial role in your emotional health, confidence, and functional relationships. Helping you find these tools is Lara’s passion and calling.
Lara became a therapist because one day she needed one and fortunately, she found “the one” that walked through the darkness with her. With the sturdy guidance of that therapist, she discovered that there are powerful lessons in the darkness, and on the other side is acceptance, freedom, wisdom, and peace. The process of uncovering your authentic self is at the heart of the journey and once accessed, she can help you let go of old beliefs and stories that are no longer serving you so that you can invest in a deep and committed relationship with yourself. Lara has rewritten her story and would be honored to help you rewrite yours.
Lara earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Edward’s University and is EMDRtrained. She is also certified in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) from Brown University, is a certified and registered trauma-informed yoga therapist (TIYT), and is a certified Reiki practitioner. With these things, nervous system regulation is an important and necessary component of the work she will do with you.
Lara is a very proud mother of two amazing teenage boys and enjoys reading, yoga, Pilates, photography, hiking, watching birds, and almost any activity involving the mountains.
