Practicum Student Therapist
Mackenzie Sears holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology and is currently a Doctoral Student in the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to working with clients in therapy, Mackenzie also conducts research on romantic relationships, sexual well-being, and nonconsensual sexual experiences at UT. Not only does she bring a wealth of knowledge about intimacy within couples, sexual health, and sexual trauma, she also brings warmth, genuine compassion, and open-mindedness to therapy. Mackenzie is most comfortable with trauma-informed therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion techniques, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, which considers how one’s thoughts, behaviors, and emotions interact to influence overall well-being and mental health. In her free time, Mackenzie enjoys cooking, traveling, and playing with her dog. Mackenzie will be an practicum student therapist at PRESENCE for the Fall of 2021 and the Spring of 2022.
