Lauren Slatko, PsyD

Dr. Lauren is a compassionate, warm, and relational psychologist who believes combing these aspects with a good sense of humor is key to a supportive and connected therapeutic relationship. Dr. Lauren approaches her work with respect, kindness, and curiosity, seeking to help clients explore and understand themselves.
Dr. Lauren has a B.A. in Social Work from St. Edwards University and an MSSW in Social work from the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Lauren holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she acquired experience and skills in behavioral parent training. Dr. Lauren went on to obtain a PsyD from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. During her time in California, Dr. Lauren gained a deeper appreciation for working on integrative teams. She completed her Clinical Internship at Texas Tech University, which allowed her to continue to build her passion for working on integrative teams.
Lauren derives her work with clients from multiple therapeutic approaches grounded in various evidence-based practices to find what is best for each of her clients. She has experience implementing integrative treatment plans in multiple settings, including hospitals, outpatient programs, and schools.
Dr. Lauren has experience working with depression, anxiety, relational and family conflict, anxiety, trauma, and specializes in body concerns and eating disorders. Dr. Lauren has extensive experience working with teens and their families as well as young adults.
Personally, Dr. Lauren enjoys everything Austin offers, from being outdoors to experiencing Austin’s music and food scene. She loves and enjoys hanging out with her two rescue dogs, Millie and Tilly.
