Mayowa Omoyeni is a dual board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her education from The University of Texas at Arlington and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She has experience treating individuals across the lifespan including, but not limited to those suffering from anxiety, PTSD, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and insomnia.
Mayowa began her career in mental health as a psychiatric emergency nurse at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX where she spent a few years caring for high acuity patients with a variety of mental health diagnoses. Since then, she has worked in the outpatient setting caring for patients with both medical and mental health conditions.
She understands that challenges come along in life and recognizes that it takes courage to seek guidance and care from a mental health provider. She believes in treating the patient as a whole, while considering mental, physical, environmental, and social factors. Mayowa is passionate about providing access to high quality mental health care.
Mayowa’s approach involves transparency, compassion, listening, goal-setting, healthy processing, and coping mechanisms. Through collaboration, Mayowa works with her patients to develop the best treatment plan for relieving mental health symptoms. She sets medication and therapy goals with the client and provides motivation, support, medication, and feedback when necessary. Mayowa believes in total medical freedom and diversity. Her goal is the overall well-being of her patients and their families.
During her time off, Mayowa enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and traveling to different countries, experiencing new cultures.
Schedule with our office and Mayowa will get your history, assess your symptoms, and then discuss a treatment plan that may or may not include medication, supplements, nutrition, psychotherapy, environmental changes, and/or lab work. Depending on the diagnosis and treatment, a 30 minute follow up appointment is usually within 2-4 weeks after the initial appointment.
Mayowa is available to see clients ages 18 and up for initial psychiatric consults and medication management. To book an appointment with Mayowa, simply call our main office at 512-469-0535 or email our office at admin@presencewellness.co.
