Addictions take many forms and many have worsened during the pandemic. Here at PRESENCE we seek to help you overcome the challenging cycle of addiction by supporting you via therapy, processing underlying emotions, building resilience, developing an understanding of what is driving the addiction, and using the latest science-based methods. We understand that addictions are mental and physical, and those deep-rooted habits can feel supportive or comforting in some ways. We seek to help you develop greater emotional strength and support so you can face life and meet your needs in healthier ways.
We work within your own goals for health and optimal wellness, taking a harm-reduction approach that supports your journey toward recovery, understanding, and life goals. We know that addictions can comprise a broad constellation of elements in your life, from your own sense of self, to traumas, painful past experiences, loss, grief, difficult relationships and family members, physical pain or health issues, community or financial stressors, and more. We help you come to terms with all these elements to move through addictive behavior and begin to live a life you can feel proud of.
Guidance for our approach to addictive tendencies comes from Dr. Daniel Hochman, a leading addiction expert and Board-certified Psychiatrist known for his holistic and comprehensive approach to addictions. Dr. Hochman brings many years of experience as a national expert in his field to helping individuals reach their goals via the latest evidence-based approaches. Dr. Hochman also offers a self-paced online program that can support your therapy work and help you understand your addiction better through self-study at home.
Both our psychiatric providers, Dr. Nettles and Adrienne Feehan, support individuals with substance abuse and addiction concerns. They combine mindfulness and complementary approaches with science-based care to support you in your growth process and can recommend and coordinate counseling support as well.
